Dracut–Social Service Coordinator

The Town of Dracut seeks an organized, compassionate, and dedicated person to act as Social Service Coordinator for the Council on Aging.  This is a full-time, benefit eligible position with a salary range of $38,820 to $52,173.  This position will be responsible to act as an advocate for Dracut seniors, residents who are disabled, and/or low income.  This person will assess the needs of clients, make referrals, assist with applications for government assistance and other support programs, and coordinate with other agencies and community organizations to ensure needs are met.   Coordinator serves as liaison to Elder Services of the Merrimack Valley.  Coordinator also supervises the part-time Outreach Coordinator whose focus is on educating the community on Senior Center activities and services, while providing support for the Social Service Coordinator.  Bachelor’s Degree in social work, human services, or related area of study; three years’ experience working with the elderly and/or other at risk populations; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Licensed Social Worker preferred but not required.  Experience in facilitating referrals to community agencies, with knowledge of the Elder Services of the Merrimack Valley network and services a plus.  Must be well versed in all Microsoft computer applications.  Experience with the MySeniorCenter tracking system a plus.  Experience with dementia population a plus.  Valid motor vehicle driver’s license and access to an automobile required.     The Town of Dracut requires a physical exam, drug screen and CORI check post-offer.  A complete job description and employment application can be obtained at www.dracutma.gov/human-resources   Qualified individuals should send a completed application, resume and cover letter to Christine Lindberg, Director of Human Resources, 62 Arlington St., Dracut, MA 01826 clindberg@dracutma.gov   EOE/AA
