Acton–Activity Assistant

Acton Council on Aging is accepting applications for an Activity Assistant. This is a part-time, non-benefitted position, 15 hours per week, 3 days per week, 11:30am – 4:30pm, including occasional evening and weekend hours.

This position serves as an assistant to the Program Manager and general assistant to COA staff, in addition to taking direct responsibility for specific COA programs. Experience working with the public, excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.  Duties to include setting up rooms for program/classes including A/V equipment; assist in leading various programs/classes,; assisting with special events, meals and monthly breakfast.; shopping for supplies needed for programs; assisting with day trips and providing back-up at the reception desk as needed. Frequent interaction with seniors both in person and on the phone. Must have the ability to take initiative with minimal supervision and the ability to multi-task. Confidentiality is a must.
