MCOA is asking our membership to join elder Advocates from around the state to contact their Senators to support the Elder Mental Health Outreach Teams (EMHOT) Amendment. Amendment 206 filed by Becca Rausch, and co-sponsored by Senators Comerford and Jehlen, requests $200,000 above the Senate Ways and Means budget proposal. EMHOTS provide critical mobile behavioral health services to older adults in the community, these service needs have grown exponentially in this pandemic.
Simply call your Senator and ask him/her “to co-sponsor Amendment 206 to the Senate Ways and Means FY21 proposal”,(see below).
The Senate is beginning debate on amendments today, so your advocacy is needed right now!

Ms. Rausch, Ms. Comerford, Ms. Jehlen and Mr. O’Connor moved that the proposed new text be amended in section 2, in item 9110-1640, by striking out the figure $800,000 and inserting in place thereof the following figure:- $1,000,000.
