Good afternoon Colleagues, MCOA, COAs, Senior Centers, SHINE and Nutrition Program Directors:
Below and attached please find important information in English and Spanish from the Massachusetts COVID-19 Command Center regarding vaccines for home-based healthcare workers. The purpose of this communication is to provide initial information about the vaccine for workers who will be eligible to be vaccinated in Phase 1. We ask you to share this correspondence with any staff that are a clinical or non-clinical healthcare or home care worker doing in-person consumer or patient-facing care when the work is performed in the home of the patient/healthcare consumer. For your information – COA, SHINE and Nutrition program staff that are doing anything in person and in the home (including delivering meals to the home) are included in this Phase 1.
We are in the process of working through remaining details about the logistics of where, when, and how workers will receive the vaccine, as well as what documentation will be needed. These details are being finalized and as soon as we have more information, it will be shared in future correspondence. Information will also be updated regularly at https://www.mass.gov/covid-19-vaccine-in-massachusetts.
Thank you for the work you do every day. We know you are eager to ensure your staff are inoculated and we appreciate your patience as we undertake an unprecedented mass vaccination initiative.
