HOURS OF WORK: Parttime (25 hours/weekly within time of Monday Friday 8:30am 4:00pm)

SALARY: $27.47 $30.25 Hourly (Nonunion Prorated benefits eligible)

BASIC FUNCTION:
Position recruits, trains, coordinates, and schedules volunteers for the purpose of providing services and activities through Medford Council on Aging.

SUPERVISION: Works under the direction of the Director of Elder Affairs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Recruits volunteers through the media and public relations visits/speaking engagements in the community.
  • Researches and writes grants and letter of intent to assist in funding programming.
  • Prepares materials that highlight volunteer opportunities.
  • Interviews prospective volunteers and assists them in filling out appropriate forms including CORI forms.
  • Trains all volunteers for their duties; keeps abreast of all volunteer opportunities at the Council on Aging and Senior Center, both on and offsite.
  • Matches volunteers to opportunities that suit their skill set, and ensuring they understand their responsibilities.
  • Creates and fosters new partnerships with local businesses and schools to collaborate programs and events.
  • Maintains all necessary program reports and records.
  • Keepings schedules and records of volunteers’ work.
  • Submits monthly statistical and narrative reports.
  • Submits annual report to Director of Elder Affairs that includes long and shortterm goals.
  • Attends training/seminars that are related to volunteerism.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
