The Town of Halifax is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Outreach Services & Programs Coordinator in the Council on Aging. This is a full-time, 40 hour per week position.
The Outreach Services & Programs Coordinator will be responsible for planning, implementing, and supervising daily operations of support services and social programs for Halifax residents, specifically those within the Town’s senior population and/or individuals suffering from a disability. This position will be tasked with assessing older adults’ needs, providing information and assistance on accessing services, and advocating for and supporting older adults and their families.
The Outreach Services & Programs Coordinator will compile statistical reports on COA programs and services, facilitate community service/social programs, participate on regional committees and coalitions to represent the COA’s goal and objectives, and act as a resource for and build relationships with other Town departments and public bodies to enhance support opportunities and social programs for the senior community.
Bachelor’s degree in social work, occupational therapy or similar field preferred with one to five years of experience working with older adults; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job. A valid Massachusetts Driver’s license is required. As a condition of employment, the applicant must be CORI certified.
Pay rate: $19.21 – $23.26 per hour (Grade 6). This position is eligible for benefits.
