Exciting news!!

As of TODAY (Monday, 12/18) DTA has made some massive changes to the way they ask for verifications (proofs). Requests for proofs- verifications – are one of the biggest access barriers for our clients who are applying for or trying to keep SNAP or cash benefits. We think the set of changes that DTA has made have the potential to positively impact every client who comes in contact with DTA. Attached is a brief overview of some of the changes.

Save the date! MLRI will be sharing more information about the details of this change and what it means for your work and for our clients – including a webinar training on Thursday, January 11 at 2 PM. Stay tuned!

In the meantime – please let us know what you are seeing! We would love to hear from as many of you as possible about what your clients are being asked to provide for proofs- that way we can make sure issues are being fixed by DTA as quickly as possible! Email Vicky Negus at vnegus@mlri.org or call 857 -241-1715.

This is a huge holiday gift for low income families and individuals in Massachusetts- many thanks to DTA for working hard to implement these changes. We also want to send a heartfelt THANK YOU to all SNAP Coalition members who have shared issues related to verifications for many, many years – these changes were only made possible because of your advocacy!
