Statewide SNAP Training Campaign

Attend trading by state experts in SNAP from the Mass Law Reform Institute so you and your staff know how to enroll SNAP eligible seniors swiftly. Over 100,000 elders in MA are eligible for SNAP and not enrolled. Let’s go!!

Transportation Programs of Interest

  • UberASSIST and Uber for Seniors are programs we trained the membership on.
  • Brookline and newton’s TRIPPS program volunteers coach others in how to get around if they do not drive a car. MCOA is watching the program closely and gearing up for replication.
  • RMV has partnered with many COAs to help older adult’s access online RMV transactions.

Exploring Alternate Nutrition Services

MCOA is exploring alternate nutrition services such as the café model, food pantries, farm shares, mobile farmers markets, and many others.

Working to Eliminate Food Deserts in MA

MCOA works with MPHA and others to advocate for Food Trust Funding to be set aside to help small grocers add refrigeration to their stores so they may sell fresh fruit, dairy, meat and vegetables in current food deserts.
