Have you ever felt unsure of how to dig into your own diversity story, let alone talk about it with others? What about tackling the conversations that no one wants to have about race/gender/sexual orientation/class/ability/age/etc.? We all have been there! Holding meaningful dialogs, where people feel seen, heard, and valued, creates an environment where people can connect and deeply appreciate one another (even if they don’t agree). In this session, you will be equipped with strategies that help you move from conflict to conversation, and from polarized to finding common ground.
Learning Outcomes:
- Define inclusive conversation and explore what makes it safe to engage
- Explore the conditions that are important for inclusive conversations
- Know what actions to take when strong emotions flare
